Yandere Review - Nanoka No Kare's Takato Uesugi

Role: Antagonist

Before anything else, let me tell you these things first: (1) The drama in this story gets heavy real fast. And that is a good thing! (2) Unfortunately, the scanlations are way too far behind. Like, only 12 chapters are scanlated so far while the raw is already on the 11th volume if my information is right.

I think it's really disappointing because the yandere (Takato) here is really good! It's sad because most people won't be able to appreciate him. *Currently wishing for more scanlations lol*

Anyway, I got this as a recommendation. (Thanks Summer Skye!) And I must say that the first time Takato showed his forceful side, I immediately fell for the guy! He's the type to force kisses on a girl. Not the romantic-forced-kiss but the really-abusive-forced kiss. He's also the type to use those kind of kisses to blackmail a girl.

Okay, anyway, as you read on to the story, you'll realize that Takato is actually hopelessly in love with Nanoka, and he just had the worst way of showing it so he ends up hurting her. And let's just say that he believes that the emotional scars he caused to Nanoka makes her his. Throughout the series, Takato will keep doing what it takes to have Nanoka back, like all our beloved yandere. (Oh my gosh, why am I remembering Darin from Cherry Boy, That Girl?)

And so, I hope the English scanlations catch up soon, or at least as much as the Spanish version does. It's actually a pain to have someone translate all those words for me. And it's probably the reason why I kept putting this series off until next time.

But well, Takato is just so worth mentioning <3
