Yandere Review - Mystic Messenger's Jumin Han

mystic messenger jumin han

Name: Jumin Han
Yandere Type: Possessive, Obsessive
Role: Obtainable Character

I finally got to finish Jumin's route today and I am so excited about making a review for him.

So, what is it about Jumin Han? Jumin is the heir of C&R International Company. He is also commonly known as "Trust Fund Kid" as named by Zen. He might actually seem dull at first because of his "stiff" personality. But as the story goes on, he's probably the most dangerous of all *wink*.

As you probably know, or not, Jumin's story is only accessible in the deep route. Trying to acquire his heart on the casual story would lead to a bad ending.

I gotta admit that I had fun throughout his whole route. I end up waking every 1:00am and 3:00am just to have a chat with the RFA people. And I always get so excited whenever I see a "visual novel mode" coming up. But then, I experienced that on Zen's route, too ^_^.

Anyway, even on the first day chats, it is obvious that Jumin is way too obsessive on his cat, Elizabeth 3rd, which, I think, is the gamemakers' way of hinting on what is about to come. Lol. I actually found it cute at first. And then, after a while, it became a slight annoyance to me. But towards the end of the story, I realized that his attitude towards the cat is critical to the story.

Let us now over-analyze his story.
Spoilers, beware.

Jumin Han is a mentally damaged person. It is not obvious at the start, but he definitely is. In other routes, it seemed to me like you only had to choose choices that would make them happy. Take Zen's for example. In order to have Zen's good end, you just have to tell him how handsome he is all the way, But in Jumin's route, you had to be a "Psychiatrist." It's like you are given a task to handle the emotions of another person.

In Zen's route, I have never worried about getting a bad end. His route was fairly easy. In Jumin's route, I had to confirm in a guide multiple times whether I am still en route to the good end.

Jumin's "problem" arose from childhood, I guess. People would suck up to him, pretend like they like him or something like that. In the end, he has no one he can trust. He thinks that every people just wants something from him. He has closed off his world. Every emotions he has now held back became the "tangled threads" in his mind. And that's when Rika and V came. Jumin admitted that they are the only persons he has actually opened up to.

And damn, I am so jealous of Rika. You see, it's never really stated, but it is obvious that Jumin fell in love Rika. Thankfully, Rika ended up with V so Jumin stays single. Gosh, I simply cannot imagine what I would do if Rika becomes Jumin's lover... I would probably kick her in the face if she was real.

But still, no matter how I hate Rika's guts, I am still a bit thankful for her. She at least widened Jumin's world a bit. Ever since she appeared, Jumin's world now revolved around RFA, C&R company, his father, and Elizabeth 3rd.

But then, Rika "died", V goes mia most of the time, his father forces him into an arranged marriage, and their company is in danger because of his father's scandals. And now, Elizabeth 3rd went missing. Imagine his horror when his world starts falling apart.

Fortunately, he has MC, the "psychiatrist". Lol. Jaehee has asked the MC to visit Jumin and convince him to come back to work. But Jumin, for all his obsessiveness and posessiveness, does not allow the MC to go home for days.

What kind of name tag, Jumin?

But honestly, despite the popular opinion, I do not think that being locked up in such a secure and wonderful penthouse is the main problem. The problem was Jumin's own twisted idea of love. The most disturbing part is the fact that he doesn't see any difference between "having a pet" and "having a lover." And despite knowing that I will not gain a heart, I just had to take the choice that says "I'm not... a replacement for Elizabeth, am I? That's not the relationship I want." Because while being a "pet" may pass off as a very good yandere story, it does not in real life.

Still, I want to clarify that Jumin's route isn't all problems or acting like a psychiatrist. Most of the chats are actually fun, especially Zen's reactions to things, Jaehee's happiness over vacations, Yoosung's cat troubles and Seven's usual funny ways. We also get more information on other members here, like how Zen probably watches porn. lol

But anyway, since this is a yandere review and not a compare-to-reality review, then I can assure you that Jumin's creepiness and twisted love is enough to satisfy your yandere needs. Being a yandere-lover, I actually had fun in the route. Too much fun, if I might say, especially on the famous Bad Ending 2 where Jumin was sitting on a chair like a pro, watching you walk with the GPS-enabled heels that he made you wear. (And hey, I found a lot of fanfic about that Bad Ending, and they were all smut. And yeah, I read it, lol".

That ending made me think that if Mystic Messenger was R-18, Jumin would be the BDSM guy.

And of course, let us not forget that Jumin is a cage guy, too. (I keep remembering Toma every time I mention "cage" but of course he's nothing like Toma. Oh, how I love these cage guys.) Well, actually, Jumin won't lock you up in a cage, but he does mention it more than once - in the chatroom, and even in calls.

With that said, if you're looking for a male yandere, Jumin is your guy! And oh, by the way, you need 80 hourglasses to unlock the Deep Story. So if you're new to the game and you don't wanna buy hourglasses with real money, then you have no choice but to play to other routes first. I suggest you play Zen, or Yoosung (he's a yandere, too.)

So, that is all. Goodbye!

P.S. Where did all this "Daddy" Jumin come from? Did I accidentally skip on a dialogue or something? Please answer me!!!

  1. You know how people call their boyfriends, "daddy"? It's basically that.
Oh, and since Jumin is rich af, people will see him as a sugar daddy.
It's not a piece of dialogue, the fans just call him "DADDY".

    1. Oh, so that's it! Thank you for the answer. I've been wondering if it was in any chats that I wasn't able to participate. I guess not >_< Thank you again.

    2. Actually it's not just that. It's a matter of Jumin being the authority figure constantly wanting to take care of everything for MC. In BDSM particularly there's apparently something of a daddy kink.

On another note: I'm surprised that anyone had any issues with getting Jumin's good or normal end. The options that lead to Bad Ending 2 were clearly incredibly unnatural in comparison to the other options. In some ways it's similar to the answers leading to Bad Ending 2 for Zen's route when you want Zen to forget about work and only obsess over you.

    3. Well yeah, most choices are actually pretty obvious that they would lead to bad ending. ^_^ Although what I actually mean is that compared to Zen's route, I feel like there are more choices which seemed "innocent" or something. Though, maybe that's just me :)

  2. I never really saw him as a yandere, I just thought "he's super possesive because he doesn't know how to express himself quite right" lol. He definitely has the tendency to feel like one tho haha. I honestly got shaky and scared when he banged the door real loud and practically demanded us to stay xD

Ahh, if you just finished him, is Seven next? <3 Gosh, please have fun on his route!! I cried a lot, ESPECIALLY when I did his after end and DEFINITELY during the secret ends. I love them all I cannot

    1. I've been seeing him as a yandere from the start. Lol. Haha. I am currently playing Seven's route. And OMG, ever since Jumin's route where Seven gets too depressed, I honestly just want to hug him (but well, it's not possible *cries*)... Really excited to play the route and the secret endings. I hope you look forward to my reviews soon!
