Yandere Review - The Queen's Knight's Ehren Hurst (One-Time Yandere)

Name: Ehren Hurst
ONE-TIME YANDERE
Yandere Type: Manipulative
Role: Main Cast (The other corner of the love triangle)

Is it just me, or do you also think that it’s too much of a coincidence that Ehren’s family name “Hurst” can be rearranged to “Hurts”? Lol. But Ehren did gave me lots of heartache, though.

Ehren isn’t actually a yandere. He’s more of the cool “I’ll protect you princess” type of knight. But due to a few chapters, I decided to label him as one-time yandere, because no matter how I look at it, those few chapters were yanderific.

Anyway, who is Ehren Hurst? Ehren is the heir to the Hurst family, the most influential nobles throughout Phantasma with power almost equal to the royal family. He’s probably also the most eye-candy out of all the characters in the manhwa.

The first time we meet Ehren, he seemed to have the air of an “arrogant knight”. But as we get to know him, like most characters in anime and mangas, we’d realize that he actually has a big soft heart. If it’s in real life, Ehren was the type of character I’d totally fall inlove with. He’s definitely a friend you can rely on, whose shoulders you can cry on, and someone you’d love to spend time together under a moonlit sky.

I thought he’s going to stay like that up until the end of the manga. But no, nooooo. He just had to turn into someone yandere-like. And while it’s obvious that the “kind self” is still his “real self”, his “yandere self” is still a must-see personality.

Call me lewd and pervert, but my favorite scene out of all scenes in the manhwa was Ehren’s almost-rape scene.

Haha. If Ehren were to do that to me.. I.. *nosebleeds* (Sorry, I’m in fangirling mode). Anyway, that continues for a while. But mind you, it’s waaay to obvious that he really loves Yuna, even though he claims that he doesn’t understand love. Oh Ehren.

Anyway, as I’ve told you above, Ehren gave me lot of heartaches, especially on the chapters towards the end. His devotion to Yuna was just so heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I felt really bad for him so much that I want to kick Yuna in the face. All those moments while reading the last volume, I was thinking something like, the mighty Ehren Hurst has fallen.

There’s just something about heartbroken guys that makes us girls want to protect them, no? Mother instincts probably? Ha ha.

Anyway, I totally love Ehren. While he may not really be unique as a character type, I’m sure that some way or another, he will still be able to touch your heart.

P.S. That scene where Hemel said Yuna probably never loved him? That was a lie. Because if that’s true, then Yuna shouldn’t have remembered Rieno, too, don’t y’all think?
