Visual Novel Review - The Dreamweaver

the dreamweaver visual novel, the dreamweaver gif

A child's footsteps echo through the vast hallways of dreams.

Curious and playful, as only a child can be, the little girl ventures into a vast chamber, where she meets a man of smoke and stardust.

So, I stumbled upon a short kinetic visual novel called "The Dreamweaver". It's about more or less 10-minute long. And mind you, that would be one of the most heartwarming 10 minutes of your life.

One of the most wonderful thing that would probably draw you in is the background. Just look at the image above. It kind of gives of a dream-like feeling, which absolutely fits the theme. Everything is so elaborate, from the background, to Kali, and to the Dreamweaver's clothes.

Another wonderful thing was the background music. The melodies were perfect, heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. I can't quite find the word to describe what I felt. That just means it was wonderful.

And the most lovable in the visual novel is most definitely the theme. It's nice how to see some complex things in the world enlightened through a little girl's eyes. The way they talked about human emotions, and how it's okay to be sad and to be scared was emotionally rewarding. I also liked how the story emphasized the topics of existences and identities subtly. Moreover, the forming friendship between the Dreamweaver and Kali was pleasing.

Over-all, that was a good read. I wished it wasn't that short.

Most dreamers never visit again.
